New Ebay Policy Some Sellers Must Ship to Buyers Before Payment is Received

Yeah I am talking to all you sellers on Ebay with 10 feedbacks or less!

New rule if a seller has less than 10 feedbacks and they are not 100% positive and buyer has over 100 feedbacks all 100% positive then seller must ship item BEFORE payment is made by buyer.

… no it’s not really a new policy however it damn well ought to be.

I am getting so tired of these “brand new” sellers wanting your money and then not sending the item to you and NEVER answering their emails. C’mon Ebay big wigs get with the freakin program.

If you want to sell something in an auction you need to ship the item once you receive payment. Don’t whine that you were sick, out of town when the auction ended or your chihuahua ate your internet cable (ever hear of wireless…) Be responsible and make arrangements ahead of time so that the package will be shipped in your absence. You can check your Paypal account almost anywhere, except maybe Malaysia!

Folks don’t think that I always want to slam on Ebay (they’re one of my favorite places) but these newbie sellers need to be put in line.

Damn amateurs.

Should Ebay implement a ship before you pay policy?

That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard in a long time. Does the grocery store let you take the steak home, cook it and see if you like it before you pay for it?

    JHS,

The whole point is there are many newbie ebay sellers who are very lax in their responsibility when it comes to fulfillment of their auctions.

If you as a buyer have tons of positive feedback it proves that you have an excellent track record at completing your auction by paying timely. You are known in the Ebay community and have a reputation.

On the other hand these new sellers do not have the reputation or track record and in certain instances should have to take on good faith that you will pay them. Now I realize this is not possible for certain auctions such as Ebay motors and such where the seller may be new and this is their only item.

The target is mainly those folks reselling things like clothing, kitchen appliances and electronics for example.

Maybe a dollar level cut off would work. For example $100. So up to this amount if seller has under a certain level of positive feedback once product is shipped then payment would be made.

Fact is $100 is a nice chunk of change to get screwed out of because seller doesn’t follow through.

    Again thanks for your comment.
